REMINDER – Patient Language Assistance

Office Language Capability
Does anyone in your office speak languages other than English? If so, let VSP® patients know by sharing that important information in the doctor directory at vsp.com. On VSPOnline, visit Practice/Doctor Updates under Administration and select Office Languages to update at least once a quarter or whenever your language capabilities change.

American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Requests
Under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, eye doctors and other health care providers are required to provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter services, at no cost to the patient, to patients who need and request ASL interpreter services.

If neither you nor a member of your staff has fluency in ASL, and you need help finding an interpreter, contact VSP Customer Care at 800.615.1883.
